Abstract:
The properties of initial boundary value problems is quite well understood for hyperbolic systems, but if we add a small dispersive perturbation to such systems, their behavior might change drastically.
In order to understand the transition between these two configurations, it is necessary to introduce and study dispersive boundary layers. In this talk based on a joint work with D. Bresch and G. Métivier, we will describe this phenomenon on an example motivated by the study of wave-structure interactions.
