I start with counting quasimorphisms, "Brooks counting functions", on free groups, then discuss its variations and applications. For example, counting functions on hyperbolic groups, MCG etc; counting functions with respect to WPD elements, rank-1 elements; and possibly counting quasi-cocycles.
