Description
Abstract: The invertibility of the geodesic ray transform has been studied by Vladimir Sharafudtinov and others using the Pestov identity. We will give an introduction to this methodology with an emphasis on geometric interpretations of certain objects naturally arising in this approach. We will also outline the proofs of some new uniqueness results for open non-trapping Finsler spaces under the typical upper bounds for the flag (=sectional) curvature. The presentation is aimed for an audience who is familiar with the basic concepts of differential topology and Riemannian geometry.
