| Douglas Cenzer is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Florida. He has held visiting positions at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley, at the University of California–San Diego, the University of North Texas, the University of Michigan, and as a Visiting Fellow at the Newton Institute, Cambridge University, during 2012. Cenzer served as Department Chair from 2013—2018. He is a former chair of the Membership Committee for the Association for Symbolic Logic and also past president of the University of Florida Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. He is an associate editor for the journal “Archive for Mathematical Logic”. Cenzer has published more than 100 articles in his specialty of mathematical logic, and more specifically, computability, complexity and randomness. These include two articles in the “Handbook of Recursive Mathematics” and an article in the “Handbook of Computability”. He has helped organized numerous conferences, including 6 special sessions of American Mathematical Society meetings, 4 conferences of Computability and Complexity in Analysis (CCA), 3 conferences of the Association for Computability in Europe (CiE), and 8 Southeastern Logic Symposia (with regular support from the National Science Foundation). He has edited 3 journal special issues resulting from these conferences. Cenzer hosted the Special Year in Logic at the University of Florida in 2006-07 as well as the UF Summer School in Algorithmic Randomness in June 2008. He has directed 9 Ph.D. students. |
