Farshid Hajir studied mathematics at Princeton and MIT. He was a Taussky-Todd Instructor at Caltech, an NSF postdoctoral fellow at UCLA, and held a tenure track assistant professorship at Cal State San Marcos prior to joining the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at UMass Amherst in 2002, where he has served as Undergraduate Program Director, Associate Department Head, and since 2014 as Head. He is interested in Algebraic Number Theory, Mathematics Education at all levels, and helping the general public understand how mathematicians and statisticians think and work. |
